If you would like to learn to litigate cases, gain confidence in real practice skills, and pursue a career in criminal or other litigation practice, please consider applying for Professor Krieger’s Criminal Litigation Skills course for Fall 2024. The course trains you in both pretrial skills (interviewing, negotiating, motion drafting and argument) and trial skills. FSU College of Law is seeking applicants for an externship with The International Bar Association in London for the Fall 2024 semester! Students will earn 9 credits for this externship and work 12 weeks, 40 hours per week. The IBA is comprised of law societies, bar associations and individual lawyers engaged in international legal practice. Our In-House Corporate Counsel Panel is today at 12:30pm in the Rotunda! Come out to hear a panel of you peers discuss their externship opportunities with corporate companies across the state of Florida and beyond. Our externships team will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about externships and to reveal the corporate companies participating in the program this Summer. On Wednesday, Feb. 7th from 12:30pm-1:30pm, the Externship Office will host a Criminal Justice Externship Panel in Classroom 102, MCB. If you are interested in participating in an externship related to criminal justice, or if you are simply exploring the possibility, come by and listen to your fellow classmates discuss their experiences. Professor Krieger will also share helpful information on the types of placements available and how to make use of these opportunities for a successful career. During this hour, we’ll cover the basics, such as reasons to participate in an externship, the application process, obtaining CLI status, how much course credit externships can provide, and the various programs available (Criminal Justice, Judicial, In-House Corporate, Government, Public Interest, International, Environmental, etc.) and answer any questions you may have.
