Once again our community came together to support the Guardian Ad Litem program, one of our very favorite outreach projects each year. Lower School classes and Middle School TARGET groups donated gifts to provide Christmas for several local children. Middle School TARGET classes collected money in advance (over $5,700!!) and then shopped as a class for the Guardian ad Litem children. It offered a hands-on experience for the middle schoolers to support other local kids during the holiday season. Today, the gifts were packaged and loaded on the truck by our NJHS members and the support was simply overwhelming. Thank you, families, for helping us give so much to those in need in the Tallahassee community.

The annual cookie exchange! Thank you to our incredible parent bakers and volunteers for making this favorite Christmas tradition extra sweet for our teachers and staff! 🍪🎄🍪

It felt like a Winter Wonderland this evening welcoming author Jan Brett to our campus ❄️ Thank you to our friends for choosing us to host! We welcomed close to 500 people from Tallahassee and beyond to meet with, and listen to, Jan Brett. We had a special appearance from Hedgie, too! 🦔
If you’re looking for something Christmasy to do tomorrow will be at Kidtown reading one of Jan Brett’s books! 🎄

Congratulations to our Lower School Spelling Bee Winners: Parker - 1st place, Dashel - 2nd place and Colton- 3rd place. And a special shout out to all of our participants on a job well done. We look forward to cheering on our winners in the county contest!

What a special morning celebrating our beloved Grandpeople! A huge thank you to our committee and chairs, Britney and Erika and our PA President Kathryn for organizing such a fun and memorable day for our !

There were so many creative business ideas and products at today’s 5th grade Business Day! Students had to develop a product, make a business plan, create, market and sell their product for profit. Great job, to all of our 5th grade entrepreneurs!

Deputy Bragg and K9 Officer Ghost visited Mrs. Bragg’s 8th grade civics classes to talk with them on 4th amendment search warrants as part of the unit on the Bill of Rights. Ghost performed a “test” narcotics search and showcased his abilities. Mostly, he just enjoyed being loved on by the students. This was Ghost’s 2nd year visiting the class, but Deputy Bragg and K9 Loki, visited the 9 years previous. Always a favorite memory each year and we always enjoy welcoming Deputy Bragg to campus to share his knowledge and insight!

Members of the Holy Comforter Classical Club (HCCC) organized a gift drive for Operation Christmas Child. Latin students collected toys, toothbrushes, washcloths, soap, coloring books and crayons for this project and during club this week, packed 27 Operation Christmas Child boxes. The boxes will be shipped to kids across the world, bringing a bit of Christmas cheer! The HCCC is sponsored by Sherri Cox, our new Latin teacher at HCES.

The annual PK3 farm day with friends! From sheep shearing to milking cows, a corn corn pit and some furry friends, we enjoyed a full morning of fun on our HCES farm!

Thank you, thank you to our HCES families for the donations to the Holy Comforter Church Food Pantry this October. Over 1,500 items were collected thanks to your generosity and we were able to restock and continue serving our local community.

Creator God, we ask you to calm the wind and the waves of the approaching hurricane, and spare those in its path from harm. Help those who are in its way to reach safety. Open our hearts in generosity to all who need help in the coming days.
We are praying for you all and hope to see our precious students and teachers back at school very soon 🤍💙❤️

5th graders, as our safety patrols, raise and lower the flag each day on campus. This week, they learned all about the proper way to care for and fold the American flag. 🇺🇸
