This week, we lost a beloved member of the HCES family, Mr. Washington, a retired maintenance team member. Before he retired, Mr. Washington was a constant presence on campus with the kindest demeanor and sweetest smile. Always quick with a “Roll Tide” and “Awwright”, it was a joy to see him each day. He was known for some friendly football rivalries during the season, always proudly cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. We were blessed to have him as a member of the HCES family for so long, and he will be deeply missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to his wife, Inell, and their entire family. Our Fall athletics were off to a great start this weekend. Our girls’ varsity volleyball team walked away with a 1st place finish and the champs of the preseason tournament at FAMU! Our XC runner also had a strong showing at the Miller Landing Madness, placing 2nd (girls) and 4th (boys), overall! Congratulations to our Crusader athletes on a fantastic start to the fall season. Welcome, Alfred Simmons “Mr. Al” to the HCES family!

Mr. Al joins our security team as our new Welcome Center Officer and will be the friendly face welcoming our families and guests to campus each day.

In his free time, Mr. Al enjoys watching old movies, reading, and working in the yard. Since joining HCES, he has enjoyed the beautiful campus, his new co-workers and is looking forward to meeting and getting to know our families and students!

Welcome, Tammy Sparks to our HCES Business Office team! Originally from Sarasota, Tammy has spent most of her life living outside of Florida, but calls the Sunshine State home. She is the proud mom of three children and grandma to two grandchildren.

Outside of school, Tammy enjoys reading, camping, and traveling with her family. In fact, last year, she traveled to South Korea!

Tammy is excited to join the HCES community, get to know our families, and become part of the Crusader family. Please join us in giving Tammy a warm HCES welcome!

Welcome, Mrs. Kate LaRosa, to the Happy Hall and PK4 team! Mrs. LaRosa holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and an undergraduate degree in Musical Theatre. She is the proud mom of two boys, in 4th and 8th grade, who both attend HCES, and her husband is a pilot.

Mrs. LaRosa is excited to bring her love of song and dance into the classroom while instilling a love of learning in her new students!

Welcome, Mrs. Dearing-McCall, to the Happy Hall and PK4 team! She is the proud mom of 3 grown sons and was a preschool teacher for 17 years. She is excited to meet new families and see old “friends” she taught in the past that are now parents at HCES!

Welcome Mrs. Emily Lambert to our Middle School math department!

A Georgia native, Mrs. Lambert recently moved from Dallas, Texas, with her family. She and her husband are the proud parents of four children, three of whom will be joining her at HCES this fall!

Mrs. Lambert loves teaching and is so grateful to be joining the HCES family. She’s looking forward to getting to know her students and becoming part of our Crusader community!

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and, most of all, being with family.

We’re so excited to welcome Mrs. Lambert to HCES!
