We are so excited for the 2022/23 school year and all of the fun and learning that will happen over the next 9 months! Thank you parents, students and teachers for the best first day!

10 REASONS TO APPRECIATE A PRESCHOOL TEACHER

1. They are not daycare workers, they are preschool teachers. Their lesson plan every day includes: how to share, how to have “nice hands” and “walking feet,” how to say please and thank you, how to walk behind someone without pushing, how to take turns, and how to have “listening ears.”

2. They are not just teachers. They are also janitors and nurses. They make boo-boos feel better and dry up tears. They spray, wipe, sanitize, sweep, mop, vacuum, and take out the trash.

3. They are waitresses. They balance little trays and cups of milk. They pick up squashed peas off the floor. Scoop peaches when they ask for more.

4. They change 5 dirty diapers, within 10 minutes, the day after beef and corn.

5. They get 12 little ducklings to follow in a row on their way to the playground.

6. They tie tiny shoes. Snap tiny pants. Fold tiny blankeys. Wipe tiny noses. Spend 5 minutes fixing the heels of tiny Converse. Multiply all of this by 12 on some days.

7. They are there before parents go to work and-or don’t go home until the last kid is picked up as the second hand ticks to closing time.

8. They lay out cots and pillows and blankeys and paci’s. They know who gets a pacifier, who gets a 6 oz bottle, who has to have all the lights out, who will wake up early, who came in late and will lay awake. They sit between cots patting restless toddlers to sleep. They spend the rest of nap time keeping the one early riser from waking the 11 others.

9. They go home and take care of their own families and homes, or their own children. They somehow find time to rest their tired feet.

10. They are patient and kind. They are trustworthy. They do their best with no promise of rest. They don’t enjoy disciplining, but do it with love. Their heart swells to see your child grow and learn and smile and play. They laugh at the funny things the kids always say. Say thank you to your daycare teacher. They love your child❤️

What a beautiful fall Friday we had this morning at the Pumpkin 🎃 Patch and the park!!! We love this tradition with our adorable VPK students every October!

This amazing group of children have overcome so much this year as we navigated our way though new routines, masks, distancing, and everything that came with COVID-19. Then, they did it again with the BIG move to our brand new facility! They may be moving on to Kindergarten in the fall but not without the celebration they deserve! We are so proud of each and every one of these kids and can’t wait to see what their future holds! Way to Go Class of 2021!!! We love you!!!!

These 2016 GBP graduates are doing BIG things! Both Kinsley and Adelaide competed this weekend in the county wide 4H Tropicana Speech Contest! Kinsley represented NFC and Adelaide represented SASC! So very proud of these amazing 4th grade students!!!! Congratulations girls!!!!

The program is intended for essential workers listed on Executive Order 20-91, as well as for any positions of support for those essential employers. For example, maintenance workers, coordinators, assistants, janitors, food service, grocers, attendants, therapists, and more working for identified essential employers.

*This program is a separately funded Leon County program that is different than the first responders and healthcare worker referrals in partnership with the Office of Early Learning. Initial referrals for that program ended July 31st.

We are so proud of our VPK students! They have been amazing during the last few weeks despite the new normals we are faced with each day! They are learning and growing and are sure to be more than ready for kindergarten next year!

We’re so excited to welcome Ms. Valerie to our team! She comes to us with over 6 years of experience in childcare. She is passionate about teaching and loves to make her classroom bright, colorful and full of student work. Though she’s only lived in Tallahassee for the last 5 years she is happy to call Tallahassee home for her and her son, Mason! Ms. Valerie knows that learning never ends and is currently working to obtain her CDA! We are happy to have her on our team!

Yesterday these sweet babies should have enjoyed their last day of VPK with each other and their teachers..... unfortunately COVID has other plans and we weren’t able to be together. However, We know that each and every one of these amazing students will be very successful in Kindergarten and beyond! We had so much fun taking graduation pictures today with our 2020 VPK graduates 🎓 we may not be able to have a formal graduation ceremony as we have done for the past 30 years, but we will celebrate these amazing, smart, silly, almost kindergarten students!
