-About Us
The program is designed to serve students, alumni and law school admissions professionals. For over 10 years FAMU has been the number two feeder of African-American applicants to ABA approved law schools. We are fortunate and pleased to have students in law schools around the country. We offer many activities throughout the year designed to develop interest and present students with information about the opportunities available in the legal profession. Some of the program offerings include a three hour class designed to strengthen performance on the LSAT, trips to tour law schools, workshops on the admissions process and on personal statement writing, as well as the opportunity for internships and networking with local attorneys. Prospective law students do not need a specific undergraduate major to be considered for law school. Law Schools select candidates based on many different factors and look for variety during the admissions process. Students applying for law school must maintain a high grade point average and score competitively on the LSAT. Students who are well versed and possess good thinking, reading, and writing skills will be well prepared. So, if this sounds like a path you are interested in pursuing, contact us for more information. Thank you for visiting our website and we look forward to serving you.
