It is awarded to persons that display the best balance of physical and academic attributes. Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded on November 1st, 1901 with the intention of developing balanced men through the ideals of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. Brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon consistently exemplify the highest level of academic, social, and physical prowess in all aspects of life. Together, we

place opportunity in front of each man to further his own personal development, not just for a few months, but for his entire college career and beyond. SigEp, the nation’s largest college fraternity, is awarding over $225,000 during the 2011-2012 academic year with its Balanced Man Scholarships. The Balanced Man Scholarship awards students who exhibit academic excellence, demonstrate leadership skills, and commit to their health and well-being. The Ancient Greeks believed in developing a Sound Mind and a Sound Body as the way to live a fulfilling life.
