Students and faculty are returning to colleges and universities all over the country right now. Don't you think they deserve campuses that are safe and gun free? Yet the gun lobby wants to arm educators with guns instead of the resources they need to just teach. They want concealed guns allowed all over campus campuses, even in dorm rooms.

BREAKING: ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN IS GOING TO THE FLOOR

We need your help RIGHT NOW with one quick phone call to support passage of federal legislation that would ban military-style assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

H.R. 1808, sponsored by Rhode Island Rep. David Cicilline is poised for a full vote NOW and must happen before the summer recess this weekend.

BREAKING NEWS - "House Dems have decided to do assault weapons ban on floor today, separately from policing bills, per multiple sources. Still working on broader policing deal."(*)

The federal ban on assault weapons expired on September 13, 2004. It's past time that a new and strong federal ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines becomes the law of the land.

ACTION STEP

Please call your Congressmember today. Look them up at Vote.org.

Tell the staffmember that you are constituent and that you want your Congressmember to vote YES on HR 1808 (ban on assault weapons) and not tie passage of this bill to any other unrelated legislation.

If you do not reach a live operator, please leave a brief message with your NAME, your city/town and the bill number for which you want them to vote yes: HR 1808.

Please contact them TODAY and let us know how the call went by sending us a quick reply note: I made the call at [email protected]

Frustrated? The Campaign To Keep Guns Off Campus says - TAKE ACTION TODAY!!

Reports show that the Uvalde, TX gunman purchased two assault rifles and at least 375 rounds of ammunition. This begs the questions:

Why are we still allowing military-style weapons with high capacity magazines to be offered for legal sale in the US?

Why can an 18 year old purchase these high powered military-style long guns and high capacity magazines with less effort than it takes to buy an antihistamine?
