Ms. Chandler's Art Class were working on the school's mural based on Salvador Dali's Ship with Butterfly Sails. Great job , can't wait to see it finished! We will definitely post a picture of the finished mural, so stay tuned.
Today we ended Teacher Appreciation Week with a hearty meal for our teachers. Thank you so much for all you do teachers, you are essential to everything we do. Shout out to Mrs. Pierre for getting this organized, and shout out to 509 Caribbean Cuisine for catering. Manje a te gwo!
Ms. Shorter's Media Graphic Arts class made some amazing things on our 3D printers. This is so awesome guys, we hope to see more of these creative creations next school year.
🚶🚶♂️ Earlier today we did the Shining Stars Unite! Walk For Inclusion. This was organized to celebrate becoming a Special Olympics Unified Champion School. Shout out to Ms. Bailey for organizing this. 🚶♂️🚶

🌮Kindergarten celebrated Cinco de Mayo in style. The kids ate some good food, took turns hitting the piñata, and just had fun in general. Feliz Cinco de Mayo a todos!🌮
Our students celebrated Earth Day last Friday by planting seeds, helping to clean our campus, and writing inspirational messages to our faculty and to the rest of the world. We only have one Earth, let's make sure to keep her clean for future generations.
🦋🦋Yesterday and today, we had Butterfly Release Parties for Pre-K and Kindergarten. The kids had a blast, and at the same time they learned the lifecycle of these beautiful creatures in the classroom.🦋🦋
Apalachee Tapestry Magnet School of the Arts (ATMSA) was established in 1999 as Leon County’s first elementary magnet school. April 26th at 6:30 p.m. is annual the Spring Gala. Join us to celebrate the Spring performances for Strings, Theater, Chorus, Art, Leadership and Media Graphic Arts. The location is 650 Trojan Trail in the Cafeteria. Admission is free and doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Youth Art Month display at Leroy Collins Main Public Library. The display's duration has been extended past March, so you can still go catch a glimpse of these beautiful pieces our students made. These are some descriptions of the art displayed and the inspiration for each one.
“Mark Messersmith Minis” - recycled mixed-media assemblage, inspired by local Environmental artist, Mark Messersmith. Individual works created by 4th and 5th grade. Markers, colored pencils, tempera paint, cut paper collage with paper maché sculptures
“Ship with Butterfly Sails” display - individually created acrylic paintings, double-sided tempera printed butterfly sails and collaborative paper-maché ship, 5th grade
“Wayne Thiebaud Tribute” - a sprinkling of paper maché ice cream cones decorated with tempera paint, 4th grade
“Koi Kites” - construction paper weavings with tissue paper streamers, 1st grade
