Chiles High School will administer the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday,
October 14th to ALL 10th graders and REGISTERED 9th, 11th & 12th Graders

10th Graders - The test is FREE for the entire Sophomore class. No further action is required.

9th, 11th, & 12th Graders wanting to take the test MUST register and pay through the eFunds system. Visit https://payments.efundsforschools.com/v3/districts/56392/login
to register your 9th, 11th, and/or 12th grader. Registration begins Wednesday, September 16th and closes Thursday, October 1st.

This test is administered ONLINE and testing students should bring their charged Chromebooks. Testing begins at 7:30 am and will last approximately 3 hours.

Students who are NOT testing will report to first period and remain there until the completion of the test. Lunch will be pushed back until approximately 11:30 am and all classes will be shortened.

To maintain a quiet testing environment, no students will be allowed to check out until testing is complete (approximately 11:30 am). Please plan for this and reschedule any appointments for another time.

Tallahassee Heights Methodist Church is looking for volunteers to help at the Pumpkin Patch for all five Saturdays in October. Hours are 9 am - 3 pm. Help is needed with the petting zoo, balloon animals, and the bounce house. The church is located at 3004 Mahan Drive. Service hours will be awarded. 2027 National Merit Semifinalists

We are pleased to recognize and congratulate the following students who have been named 2027 National Merit Semifinalists:

Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) have announced the names of more than 16,000 Semifinalists in the 72nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship, Semifinalists must fulfill additional requirements established by NMSC and advance to the Finalist level of the competition. Approximately 95 percent of semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and approximately half of the Finalists are expected to receive a National Merit Scholarship and earn the distinction of National Merit Scholar.

We extend our sincere congratulations to our five Chiles students on this prestigious academic distinction. Their recognition as National Merit Semifinalists reflects exceptional academic achievement, intellectual promise, dedication, and perseverance. We are proud to celebrate this significant accomplishment and look forward to their continued success as they advance through the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
