A memorable evening at Carnegie Hall.
On June 20, the Florida State University Singers joined the University of Houston Choir and distinguished guest artists for a centennial celebration honoring the life and legacy of composer Carlisle Floyd. Presented on one of the world’s most iconic stages, the performance showcased Floyd’s enduring impact on American music and opera while bringing together generations of musicians in tribute to his remarkable contributions.
We are proud of our students and alumni for representing the FSU College of Music with artistry, professionalism, and passion on this historic occasion.

Zachary Bunnens (M.M.E. ‘21) won a United States Army Band conducting audition and will report to Basic Combat Training in August. Following training, he will begin service as a conductor in the U.S. Army, leading military ensembles in support of ceremonial, educational, and community engagement missions. This appointment follows a competitive national audition process and marks the beginning of a career combining musical excellence with military service.
