We are proud to announce that our action plan for DeSoto Trail Elementary School’s National Wildlife Federation EcoSchools U.S. application has been approved at the Green Flag level. Woohoo!
Overall feedback from EcoSchools included: We are impressed with how DeSoto Trail worked collaboratively with administration, staff, students, families, and partners to address sustainability across the campus.
Thank you to Mrs. Baez and Mr. Schubert for writing our sustainability grant and being selected by the Foundation For Leon County Schools to fund our school garden and sustainability initiatives. Thank you to Mrs. Hokkanen and Mrs. Burleson from Neighbors Farm for leading the charge of our DTES Green Team and planting our school garden. Our garden has really taken off, and we’re already seeing fruits and vegetables growing!
