A VERY WARM WEDNESDAY 🥵

It was 108 degrees as I picked one son up from school but they are PROMISING that tomorrow will be cooler. 🤞🏼

As for us, we stayed inside, learned a ton, and I got pictures of some.

I *love* a three day weekend BUT it does throw our routine a bit. MAP testing has also been this week and it always takes a little longer than I plan for. 🙃

HAPPY MONDAY!

We had MAP testing today so we had to get a little creative with our schedule and I didn’t get pictures of everything but here’s some!

It’s HOT 🥵 here and I am SO grateful our classroom has air conditioning. Walking outside felt like walking into an oven. 🤪

Well, it’s constantly changing. 😂 In fact, I took these at the beginning of the week and a lot of it has already changed.

Hello, September!

New month, new calendar (which I was a day late to putting up but I train students so they’ll do it moving forward 😂).

Every morning, I randomly select a student (Lucky Duck of the Day) to run parts of our classroom and one of those is calendar. After they guide us through the Pledge of Allegiance and our class promise, the student announces the date and pulls a card. It’s either. A joke, riddle, or fun fact.

Little moments like this really do have a big impact on speaking skills, confidence, and class community.

I took down the California maps that were displayed and if theirs was up on the wall, they get to come up and pick a sticker from the sticker store.

We kept chugging along in math and grammar and reading and ended the day learning about the early stages of exploration.
