As announced yesterday, LCS is temporarily requiring all Pre-K - 8 students to wear a mask with a medical opt-out.
For parents who want to opt their student out of the mask requirement due to health concerns, they will need to submit the Pre-K - 8 medical mask opt-out form that has been signed by a licensed physician or psychologist, along with their medical stamp. Or, parents may submit a letter indicating approval by a licensed physician or psychologist on their official letterhead. Please attach this letter to the opt-out form with parent name and signature.
The medical mask opt-out form is due by Friday, August 27 to the student's school.
Visit www.leonschools.net/maskoptout to download a printable version of the form.

Heritage Trails Community school is a Leon County school that serves K-12 students with significant mental health challenges who need additional support that cannot be provided in their home zoned school. The majority of students are Exceptional Education Students who require an Individualized Education Plan. HTCS is a leader in the use of Relational Restorative Practices which enables students to communicate feelings, feel supported and connect with peers and staff members. RRP provides a way to handle conflicts with empathy and understanding for a student’s own needs and the needs of others. HTCS greatly appreciates the support and resources of our community.
