On November 11th, we pause to reflect on the history of this great Nation and honor all those who fought to defend it. Veterans Day allows us to give thanks to veterans past and present, men and women from all walks of life and all ethnicities, who stood up and said, “Send me.” We recognize your sacrifices, your sense of duty, and your love for this country.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness. On September 29, 2021, FAMU Police Department and LCSO, TPD, FSU, and TCC joined forces to “End the Silence on Domestic Violence.”

With the most recent and widespread account of a young woman’s abuse and subsequent death, it is important to remember that domestic violence can happen to anyone. Even those that seem happy, even those that seem fine, and even those that are close friends can be in an abusive and dangerous relationship. We must all be aware and ready to help friends who might be in danger.
