More than 72 volunteers and 92 students from 10 schools gathered for the 21st Annual FBA Leadership Summit at Circle F Dude Ranch Camp in Lake Wales, Florida, from April 29-May 2, 2026. Over two and a half days, students, instructors, industry partners, alumni, and volunteers worked side-by-side in a hands-on construction environment while building confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
This year’s featured build was a new head counselors’ cabin on the boys’ side of the property. Several schools completed prebuild work before the Summit, including floor decking and long walls, which FBA alumnus Tyler Smith with SmithBilt Sheds transported to Circle F. On site, students and volunteers brought the structure together while practicing multiple trades.
The project exposed students to many phases of construction, including septic and drainfield work, plumbing, roofing, electrical, framing, and finishing. Students also helped move the existing cabin to a new location, adding another memorable hands-on learning experience.
Students also rotated through construction-related classes in landscaping, masonry, carpentry, screens, swimming pools, and welding, gaining exposure to different trades and career paths. The amount accomplished in just two and a half days was impressive.
Beyond the jobsite, students took part in leadership and team-building activities that encouraged communication, problem-solving, and collaboration. From construction tasks to the famous cardboard boat races, they built friendships, confidence, and teamwork.
FBA Florida thanks every volunteer, instructor, school, sponsor, alumni member, and industry partner who made the 21st Annual Leadership Summit possible. Their support created an unforgettable student experience and advanced FBA’s mission to prepare the next generation of builders and leaders.
