Congratulations!!

Jasmine Bowers made history as the University of Florida's first African American woman to earn a Computer Science doctorate. She built her foundation with a double major in Math and Computer Science at Fort Valley State University before going on to break new ground in her field. Following in the footsteps of trailblazing women in STEM like Mary Jackson and Dr. Patricia Bath, Jasmine is now using her achievement to inspire more young girls to pursue careers in science and technology. Her journey shows that representation at the highest levels of academia can open doors for the next generation of women who see themselves in her story.

The future of tech is looking brighter than ever! The Motor City Robotics squad from Detroit Public Schools took home first place overall at the World Youth Robotics Championship today, outperforming teams from forty different nations. Operating out of a community garage with second-hand tools and self-written autonomy code, these students built an AI-navigated search-and-rescue robot that scored a perfect final run. Every single member of the team has secured full four-year college scholarships. Leave your congratulations for these champions!

Happy Birthday to Ruby Bridges!

At just 6 years old, Ruby walked into William Frantz Elementary School and became the first Black child to integrate the all-white school in 1960.

She was only a first grader, but that walk became a defining moment in the Civil Rights Movement. More than 65 years later, Ruby is still doing the work, speaking to young people and advocating for equality in education.

Today, we celebrate her courage then and the work she continues today.

When you pause to truly see them—not just look, but *see*—something shifts. Connection becomes possible. Empathy becomes real. A student who felt invisible suddenly knows they matter. That's not a small thing. That's the work that changes lives.

The relationships you build, the moments you create, the hope you carry—that's where your real power lives. Not in the curriculum. Not in the grades. In the noticing.

So look beyond the obvious. Be the teacher who sees what others miss. Because sometimes all a kid needs is for one adult to actually look.
