The FAMU Institute of Public Health has a long-standing tradition of preparing public health leaders who make an impact far beyond the classroom.

As we celebrate 30 years of excellence, we’re looking back at moments from past APHA Annual Meetings, where our alumni and faculty represented FAMU through research presentations, professional networking, mentorship, and collaboration with public health leaders from across the country.

These highlights reflect the legacy of scholarship, service, and leadership that continues to define the FAMU IPH community.

One of the highlights of National Public Health Week this spring was hearing from an incredible panel of Institute of Public Health alumni!

Thank you to Dr. Shamarial Roberson, DrPH, MPH, Dr. Brandon Moton, DrPH, MPH, Dr. Ericka Horne, DrPH, MPH, and Major Rodney Hankins Jr., MPH for sharing your career journeys, leadership experiences, and advice with our students. Your insights provided valuable perspective and inspiration for the next generation of public health professionals.

We are grateful for alumni who continue to pour into our students and strengthen the future of public health.

This past spring semester, the Florida A&M University Institute of Public Health celebrated a historic milestone by graduating its largest Doctor of Public Health cohort, known as the “Great Eight.” These emerging leaders are equipped with the knowledge and skills to help build healthier, safer and stronger communities for the future.

We also proudly recognize our Master of Public Health graduates with concentrations in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Through the power of data, research and analysis, these graduates are prepared to transform complex information into meaningful insights that help shape public health programs, policy and decision-making.

Congratulations to all of our Institute of Public Health graduates on this incredible achievement. Your dedication and commitment to advancing public health will leave a lasting impact on communities everywhere!
