RENEW FSU Realizing Everyone's Need for Emotional Wellness

RENEW is a DSA award-winning volunteer peer education organization sponsored by the Counseling and Psychological Services at Florida State University. We are one of the largest and longest standing programs of our kind nationwide. RENEW peer educators (members) serve as service-extenders for the Counseling and Psychological Services by providing presentations and individual instructional sessions

to undergraduate student groups, residence halls, and academic classes. RENEW members, in conjunction with Counseling and Psychological Services staff, also provide mental health and emotional wellness outreach presentations on various topics to FSU staff and faculty. RENEW members facilitate over 100 health and wellness focused events, reaching approximately 2,000 students university wide each year. The 50 members of RENEW dedicate nearly 4,000 hours total each year to the development of our organization and support of the Florida State community. Events that RENEW members and Counseling and Psychological ServicesStaff co-facilitate include Fall and Spring Stress Buster events, Mood Check-up, Yappy Hour, and Courtyard Commons Block Parties (co-sponsored by the Globe, Career Center, University Health and Counseling and Psychological Services). Counseling and Psychological Services staff and RENEW also team up with campus partners for several campus wide events such as Love Your Body Day and the Fresh and Fit Fair. RENEW independently hosts “Be Happy!” a campus-wide event which invites campus partners to teach students everyday ways to increase happiness, improve their mood, and decrease stress.
