FCIM recently made several presentations at the Association for Educational Communications and Technology’s (AECT) 100-year anniversary conference in Orlando. There was great participation among attendees at each session and we took away great insights as to the future of interactive media. The FCIM presentations included one on an application of AI in instructional design; a second on the importance of Universal Design to promote accessibility of online content; and another provided a showcase of FCIM’s newly developed augmented reality vehicle sweep activity. The presentation titles were:
● Designing Authentic, Augmented Reality Learning Activities for Online Courses (showcase)
● Universal Design for Learning Principles and Accessibility
● Can Chat GPT Produce Quality Learning Objectives? An Investigation

Picture is of FCIM team members engaging with participants in an augmented reality vehicle sweep activity as an example of the showcase presentation.

This is an an evaluation of activities we engage in based on literature supported dynamic routines and what areas we need to focus on to improve our Center's performance. FCIM collaborated with the Department of Children and Families and the Florida Institute for Child Welfare to develop Preventing Human Trafficking, an online training course. This training will help foster families and case managers identify the signs of human trafficking and report any reasonable suspicions. We are thrilled that our work continues to bring awareness to and mitigate some of the most critical issues affecting our society's vulnerable populations today.
