The teacher trap is when new tenure-track faculty spend most of their time teaching at the expense of their research and writing.

Tips to Streamline Your Teaching:

-Consider a Mid-Term Eval: Collect student feedback mid-term and adjust your approach.
-Align with Your Department: Ensure your teaching standards fit your local context.
-Seek Faculty Development Support: Connect with your campus teaching experts.
-Forget RateMyProfessors: Don't dwell on online reviews; focus on broader trends.
-Set Research Accountability: Create a research-focused accountability mechanism alongside teaching responsibilities.
