Q. How long is the School Choice window open?

**This is not a first-come, first-served process. Applications will be processed after the March 1st deadline.**
Q. Where is the School Choice Application?
A. The School Choice Application is in your FOCUS Parent Portal, not on the School Choice website. You have to completely fill out the FOCUS Parent Portal registration if you have not done so already. Click on the FOCUS Parent Portal Registration here: https://leon.focusschoolsoftware.com/focus/auth/
Q. Which digital device and browser do I need to use to fill out the application?
A. We highly recommend Google Chrome or Firefox and using a laptop / Chromebook or desktop to complete the registration and application process. Please let your school or the School Choice office know if you need access to a device.
Q. What do I do once I am in my FOCUS Parent Portal?
A. Once you are in your portal, select the student that you want to apply for School Choice. Next, select "School Choice Application." Once you are in the application you will see the first section with your name and address info.
Q. I don't understand the second section. What should I select?
A. The second section is 6 boxes. If none of these 6 boxes apply to you scroll past them. You do not have to select one of these six boxes to complete and submit your application. You may scroll down and select your requested schools. You may select up to three schools. We encourage you to select three schools to have options in case your first choice is not approved.
Q. How do I know if I have successfully submitted the application? Will I receive an email?
A. Yes, you will receive an email. You can make sure it was saved/submitted by accessing the application in your parent portal, and also make any changes to it before 5 p.m. on March 1.

Q. What do I do if my student is in VPK, 5th or 8th grade?

Q. What is my zoned school?
A. You are zoned by your home address. You can visit our website at www.leonschools.net and click on School Zones at the top.
