As part of yesterday in D.C., our FMEA and Florida NAfME Collegiate delegates met with multiple House and Senate offices to advocate for music education. They discussed with members and staff from Florida about the vital funding and policy priorities that impact music education. Thank you to the offices of US Rep Darren Soto, Representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost, Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D., Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, Senator Rick Scott, and Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna for taking the time to meet!

Great news for music education in Florida! Thank you to the Florida Legislature for passing HB 1105, allowing two years of marching band to satisfy the one-credit physical education requirement. This significant legislation acknowledges the rigorous physical activity involved in marching band and is another important step forward in supporting and enhancing music education in Florida's schools. We look forward to the Governor's signature!
