🔥 2026 California FFA Auctioneering CDE – Preliminary Contest Draw 🔥

We’re excited to officially kick off the 2026 California FFA Auctioneering Career Development Event (CDE) with the Preliminary Contest Draw, hosted in conjunction with the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California!

📍 Location: World Ag Expo – W.W. Pavilion
📅 Date: 2026
⏰ Schedule:
• Check-in: 10:00 a.m.
• Contestant Meeting: 11:00 a.m.
• Contest Begins: Noon

This contest will feature 30 outstanding FFA members from across California as they step into the spotlight to demonstrate their auctioneering skills — voice, cadence, clarity, professionalism, and confidence — all while competing for the opportunity to advance and represent their chapters at the next level.

The FFA Auctioneering CDE is more than a contest. It builds real-world communication skills, leadership, confidence, and career readiness. These students aren’t just learning how to sell — they’re learning how to stand tall, speak with purpose, and perform under pressure.

🎤 We invite auctioneers, ag professionals, advisors, families, and supporters to come out, grab a seat, and cheer on these students as they chase big goals on a big stage.

FFA members come see what can happen when you chase big dreams from a small town! Jeff Medders credits his speech and debate teacher for making him what he is today. What you are doing with an FFA auction CDE could lead you to somethings as big as the National Finals Rodeo.

🎤 Please help us welcome guest speaker Jeff Medders to the OSAA Winter Convention & Contest!

We’re excited to have Jeff join us and share valuable insight and experience with our attendees.

Jeff Medders is one of the most respected and recognizable voices in Western sports broadcasting, with more than 30 years shaping how rodeo is presented on national television. A Tulsa, Oklahoma native and Oklahoma State University graduate, Medders brings a steady, authentic approach that enhances the event and honors the athletes, culture, and stories behind the competition.

He has served as the television host of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo since 1991, making him one of the longest-tenured hosts of a major American sporting event. In the early 2000s, he founded Geronimo Productions, now one of the leading production companies in Western sports, producing major broadcasts for CBS Sports Network, FOX Sports, and RFD-TV.

Medders lives in Tulsa with his wife, Diana, and their four children, and operates a cattle ranch near Talihina, Oklahoma. He was inducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame (2016) and the National Rodeo Hall of Fame (2022), reflecting a career defined by authentic storytelling and a lifelong commitment to the cowboy way of life.
