As educators we endeavor to develop each young person to maximize their God-given talents through academics, extracurricular activities (athletics, art, and music), outreach projects, evangelism, and differentiated learning. While students discover the difference and utilize their talents, we assist them in finding opportunities to make a difference. Our students embrace these challenges and core values that we represent and lead a reform that will serve to advance the sharing of the gospel message. We believe that every student that enrolls in Takoma Academy was placed here by God for a purpose. As our students seek to fulfill their purpose, we appreciate the opportunity to partner with you, the family, on this part of their success journey.

Our Takoma Academy educators leaned all the way into our Kingdom-Cup Professional Learning Series! 👑

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” - Proverbs 27:17

From grounding ourselves in our school mission and Kingdom-Class Education approach to “visiting” one another’s classrooms through teaching clinics and offering meaningful pedagogical feedback, our team has showed collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to excellence as we prepare to welcome our students to the 2026-2027 school year!

And after several friendly competitions and a fun, but intense game of Swords Up, the Watchmen team ultimately claimed the Kingdom-Cup PD Championship! 🏆

Special shout out to all the teachers and staff for their “heart” work and our administrators, Mr. Beckett and Mrs. Campbell for their coordination. Thanks to our own Chaplain Machado and new Math teacher, Mr. Hsu, for leading us in worship. Special thanks to Dr. Thomas, Pastor Graham, and Pastor Keila for visiting and pouring into our team as well! We’re grateful for every member of our TA community and we’re excited about the work ahead as we “Follow Christ Together!”

We Takoma Academy are gearing up for the new 2026-2027 school year ready to SERVE our community! ✨

Principal Brann and Chaplain Machado visited the Adventist Community Services Center of Greater Washington today to co-plan assistance for our annual student “Spread Love” days on-site at the center.

Co-directors, Kenneth and Nancy, shared updates about the latest work happening at the center to support the needs of our community, including hundreds of diapers, groceries, toiletries, novelty items, and more distributed each week! 🛒🧷👞🍞

We’re honored and eager to help contribute to this ministry and so many others in the days ahead with love and joy!

The “Watchmen,” one of our Kingdom-Cup Professional Learning Teams, took a fun spin on the challenge of creatively interpreting our TA mission this week by designing some familiar faces for a hybrid in-person and AI-generated dramatic adventure! 😄 Within only 10 minutes to plan, create, and perform, this team comprised of staff and our school partners, Marcellus Crews and Opal Foster, used original innovation and graphic design tools to make a dynamic dramatic scene. Scoring high marks on our staff rubric! 🏆

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we started with worship, and then moved into engaging collaboration with creativity, connections, and a shared commitment to our school mission and our “Kingdom-Class” educational approach.

Our Takoma Academy and Takoma Academy Prep School families are coming together for an inaugural Back-to-School 5K on Sunday, August 16!

🕣 On-site Registration & Donation: 8:30 AM
🏁 5K Begins: 9:00 AM

Support our amazing schools by joining us for a morning of faith, fellowship, fitness, and prayer as we kick off the new 2026-2027 school year!

100% of on-site registration donations will support our schools’ “Worthy Student” Funds to help with tuition costs for students and families.
