Anne-Made Classes

Small classes, one-on-one instruction, home-based. I sometimes offer kids' camps, too.

Anyone interested in a Spring Break class? Must be vaccinated and boosted.

Still waiting for that all-important vaccination! It's in sight - my workplace is arranging appointments soon.

Wow, I haven't posted since April!
Once we are all vaccinated, I will start classes again. In the meantime, if you have any specific sewing questions, send them my way!

Are you one of the thousands of people all over the land who hauled your sewing machine out of the back of the closet? Are you trying to sew face masks, but the thread keeps bunching up under the fabric? Are you breaking needles? Is your sewing machine just all jammed up and won't go?
Don't despair!
Jeff the Sewing Machine Guy is available!
Jeff Carper has been servicing my sewing machines for years, and while he usually makes house calls, in this time of stay-at-home orders, he is, like many of us working from home. He's set up a drop-off system at his house, so there's no personal contact.
I called him today to make inquiries for a friend whose machine got dropped on the ground by a friend helping her move. Jeff is around most days - he said not Tuesdays or Fridays, but otherwise is home.
His phone number is 301-760-9821, and he lives at 9224 Whitney St., Silver Spring, 20901.

Later, when restrictions are lifted and it's safe to do so, I will have some basic sewing classes in my home, and hopefully be able to do at least one sewing camp this summer. I can also do a clean-your-machine event where Jeff comes here and your machine can be serviced (and repaired if necessary).

DIY Face Mask Tutorial With Kay 04/17/2020

Here's a funny video about what everyone is doing right now - sewing face masks!
Once the stay-at-home orders are eased, we can start to address all the glitches folks have run into, from that sewing machine that just won't work to renewing your sewing skills.

DIY Face Mask Tutorial With Kay Kay Pruitt's love of posting DYI videos exceeds her actual skill in this comedic tutorial gone wrong.

I'm thinking about having classes this fall, both after-school for kids, and weekday and weekend classes for adults.
