Of Michelle Reyes & Jeremy Lopez we extend our deepest condolences to the Reyes & Lopez family. Our entire WAU community has been touched by the warmth, friendliness, love and genuine care they both freely gave to everyone. We will never forget the impact they had on all of our lives.
Michelle was a 3 year member of the WAU Cross Country and is credited for recruiting many of her friends to join over the years. Last week she appeared in her first meet and the joy she had in completing the race is something we will never forget. She had such an amazing spirit that brought a calmness to all. She was a kind & genuine soul.
Jeremy was coming off an injury and was primed to join the team. He recently accepted to join the program as manager until he was healed. He had such an amazing personality that drew everyone closer to him. He was a kind & genuine soul.
Both Michelle & Jeremy loved God. We can be reminded of Paulโs words. โI have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.โ
2 Timothy 4:7-8.
Counseling, pastoral care and other support resources continue to be available to WAU students, faculty, and staff. We encourage members of our community to reach out for support and to care for one another in the days ahead.
With Love,
The WAU Athletics Department
