WARREN MILLS is being inducted to NIAA hall of fame this June - the 30th class of Hall of Famers. Warren Mills is the NIAA’s all-time coaching leader for state team championships
won in any sport. Mills led the North Tahoe High School cross country program for 52 years before stepping down following the 2021 fall season. His Lakers’ teams captured 24 boys’ and 13 girls’ Class 2A state banners. His athletes took home 25 gold medals and posted more than 150 (top seven) podium finishes overall. Mills, who also coached the distance runners during the spring track season to an incalculable number of individual state wins and top medal placings, directed one of the region’s largest invitationals (the North Tahoe Open) for most of his career.

* 1st Team to compete in the State Championship Game

O M G!!! Worst part about first run straddling and sickness? Not being able to witness in person the most incredible performance by AJ Hurt absolutely SLAYING to her first World Cup podium ever. That was astounding🤯😭. And Paula Moltzan was so close to making it a double USA podium… what a day🥹🥳 What a absolute beast of a day👏 👏 My teammates brightened today soooo much with their skiing and their smiles, these ladies deserve the world and I’m just so thankful and happy for them❤️

The 2023 Junior National Championships wrapped up with the Mass Start 5km-10-km-15km yesterday in Fairbanks. In the U15 Girls 5km race, pictured, Far West racers took four of the top 10 spots! Over on the boys' side, Far West's one and only Boys U20 racer, Matt Seline, placed fourth in the 15km! Congratulations to ALL of our fine young athletes whose hard work and dedication to the sport of Nordic skiing brought them to Alaska for the 2023 JNs!
