SVOSH Roatán 2026 🕶🌴

From July 22–29, 18 students and 3 doctors traveled to the beautiful island of Roatán, Honduras, for SVOSH’s 15th trip to Roatán. Over four days of clinic at two different locations, our team had the privilege of seeing nearly 600 patients and providing comprehensive eye care to the local community.

From taking entering visual acuities, performing retinoscopy, and frame refractions to examining the health of each patient’s eyes and helping them find the right glasses. Every member of the team played an important role in making these clinics possible.

These photos capture just a glimpse of the hard work, learning, teamwork, and meaningful connections that made this trip so special. We are incredibly grateful to our students, doctors, and everyone who helped make this experience possible.
15 trips. Nearly 600 patients. Countless memories. One incredible team.

Interested in Refractive Surgery? Come see us at the NSUOCO optometry clinic on the NSU campus! We have a brand new laser being installed next week. We are happy to do a refractive surgery evaluation and see if you are a candidate for refractive surgery and lessen your need for glasses or contact lenses!
