Today, we proudly welcomed the ROAR Academy and Outreach Center staff back for Tahlequah Public Schools opening assembly as we kicked off the 2026-2027 school year! 🟠⚫🐅🟠⚫

This afternoon, our staff came together for professional development focused on building the culture, identity, and shared vision that will guide us as we serve our students this year.

We can't wait to welcome our students back soon!

🐅 ROAR Academy is improving our campus every day. We’ve recently added new signage, new fencing, badge-access entries, secure doors, updated furniture, and custom vinyl graphics to create a safe and welcoming environment for our students and staff. Thank you to our TPS District leaders for their continued support and investment in our program.

Tahlequah Public Schools is excited to announce the unification of Central Academy and the Tahlequah Public Schools Outreach Center into one program: R.O.A.R. Academy & Outreach Center.

For many years, Central Academy has provided students with a non-traditional pathway to earning a high school diploma, while the Outreach Center has connected students and families with the support and resources needed to overcome challenges. Together, these programs have helped countless students find success.

The name R.O.A.R. comes from the Tahlequah Public Schools’ mission statement. R.O.A.R. stands for Removing Obstacles. Achieving Results. This reflects the district's commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the obstacles they may face.

R.O.A.R. Academy & Outreach Center will continue the proud traditions of both Central Academy and the Outreach Center while expanding opportunities for students through a collaborative, student-centered approach. The unified program will focus on building relationships, removing barriers to learning, and empowering every student to achieve success. We will be rolling out more information soon about our program and staffing changes for the 2026-2027 school year.
