Boba break on the way to grab supplies for our students! 🧋✨ Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by and spun the resource wheel! 🎡 Come hang with us—maybe jump into a game of Spicy Uno, Rummy, Hand & Foot, 007, or one of the many games we’ve been learning and teaching. Sometimes you just need to unwind and have fun! 🎲🔥

Everyone give a round of applause for one of our amazing students who was recently commissioned to create a mural from NSU near the Center for Tribal Studies!
She did a great job representing her culture and creating an amazing piece so let her know and go check it out when you can!

Here are some photos from a few recent events that have been going on!
In October we went to Salem/Boston for a Cultural Immersion experience that went incredibly well and we learned so much and made some incredible memories!
Then in November we went to the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas to see some incredible pieces of art work and learn a lot of history and enjoy the scenery as well.
Then we also had a mentoring event that was a fully immersive Sea Turtle experience where we gathered to not only paint sea turtles but then afterwards see the Jenks Aquarium where we also went behind the scenes to learn even more!

Some pictures from our Fall assembly where we had a wonderful evening to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students.
It was a fun time where we recognized accomplishments, enjoyed a good meal together (with cheesecake), and had some games and giveaways.
A big thank you to everyone who made the day special!

Our last trip this semester!
Our students had a great time!
We did a scavenger hunt around the zoo, attended an animal talk about a legless lizard, and spoke with HR about career options at a zoo.

Went on a cultural/educational trip to Cherokee North Carolina with my coordinators and students!
Our first out-of-state trip which involved flying and driving to our destination!
It went really well! Loved the time we all had together! We had a great group of students who went. There were times we were so exhausted we became delirious! But the trip was worth it!
We visited the Museum of the Cherokees, the Oconaluftee Indian village, the Kituwah Mound, Soco Falls, Mingo Falls, a couple of overlooks, and the Junaluska Memorial.

We are so proud of our director Lena Deere. She received her 25 years of service in TRIO award today! We couldn't ask for a better director!
