NSU FIT

NSU FIT Tahlequah's community gym where MOVEMENT is viewed as MEDICINE! We are open to ALL of Tahlequah and are located inside the Riverhawks Wellness Center at NSU.

Come see us! The Northeastern State University Fitness Center (The FIT) is a beautiful facility that opened October of 2015. This facility consists of 4 main parts-
1) The Weight Room: This area of the facility houses most of the free weights in addition to areas for Olympic Lifting and two multi-use cable machines.
2) The Gym: This area is where most of our Indoor Intramural Sports take place. It consists of 2 full sized basketball courts separated by a mobile partition for player safety. Each court has the ability to convert into a volleyball court. All members of the facility can play pickup basketball and volleyball games in this area throughout the day. Children under 13 years of age are allowed in this part of the facility..
3) The Cardio Area: This area of the facility houses treadmills, AMTs. ellipticals, a stairmill, and stationary bikes. We also offer other pieces of resistance equipment in this area such as smaller dumbbells (5lbs - 15lbs), resistance bands of various sizes, medicine balls, heavy bags, and battle ropes. This area is attached to our indoor track (1\13th of a mile) as well as out isolation targeting pin selector machines for multiple muscle groups.
4) Indoor Pool: Our pool is 11 ft deep with multiple lap lanes. We offer an inflatable obstacle course for all ages. Children under the age of 13 years of age are allowed in this area of the facility. We also offer Group Fitness Classes multiple times during the day. The schedule can be picked-up at the FIT's front desk or seen on our page. For more info, come by the front desk or call (918)444-3980.

Congratulations Cari and Frank! đź’Ż

Congratulations to our 1 year Team members, Cari and Frank Keller for their hard work, consistency, and perseverance. 🙌

Making a commitment to your training is easy. But recommitting yourself to show up every day and doing the work over and over again is hard.

When your commitment is being tested, that’s when it matters the most. Because how you act and your ability to recommit will keep you going. Yes, things happen and you will get knocked off your course at times, but you can always recommit to doing your best, you can always recommit to your growth, and all things in life that matter to you.

Recommit as many times as you need until you get there. And when you do get there, take that commitment and everything that you learned from the recommitment, climb the next mountain and keep going.

“Being consistent is choosing and committing, to doing something, knowing that it isn’t always going to feel amazing but will always be worth it because the only way to achieve the goal that we hope to is by doing something everyday regardless of your fitness level and where you are in your personal journey.” — Sally Mcrae 💯

Don’t let the rain stop you from getting your steps in today! 🌧️👟

If you enjoy walking or running in the rain, that’s great! But if you’d rather stay dry, come over to NSU FIT and get your steps in on our indoor track.

Fun fact: 13 loops = 1 mile!

Getting more steps throughout the day can have some great health benefits, but don’t stress about hitting a certain number all at once. Every step counts, and even a quick walk or movement break can be a great way to clear your head, reset, and refresh your day.

So come get your steps in, stay dry, and keep moving with us! Movement is medicine. 💚🤙
