Good morning families and community. Cherokee Elementary will be hosting our Picnic on the Playground, Thursday, September 18th. We are looking for community churches or programs that would like to come set up a table. They may have information about their services or a little give away or game.

We are also looking for barbers or hair stylists who will volunteer their time to give free haircuts to students. You will be located in an air conditioned room with a stool for students to sit on and an outlet for clippers.

Good afternoon Cherokee families. Last night we hosted out first PTO meeting of the 2025-2026 school year. We went over a lot of information, but I want to give just a little re-cap of our evening. We have lots of dates and events fast approaching. It truly takes an entire village to pull off a successful school year.
September 18th is Picnic on the Playground. It will be from 5:30-7pm. We are looking for hair stylists that would be willing to give free haircuts to students.
October 8th is JOGATHON. This is our ONE big fundraiser that funds many school activities including: Interest groups, Terrific Tuesday for staff and students, classroom needs, students needs and Teacher Appreciation. Our goal is $25,000. We need to start gathering Corporate Sponsorships now. I have included the sponsorship letter below or you may come by the school to get a paper copy. Please help us by reaching out to local businesses to get a sponsorship.

Welcome back to the 2025-2026 school year. This summer has flown by! Many teachers are already back in their classrooms getting things ready for all our little tigers, but will "officially" return on Monday, August 11th. Ms. McCoy, Mrs. Sheets, parents and community members will be providing breakfast and lunch for teachers the first few days. On Open House Day, Tuesday, August 12th, teachers will work from 7am-3pm, plus Open House from 4-7pm. We would like to provide them with a "Snackle Box" bar from 3-4pm. If you would like to help, we need the following donations:
