Congratulations to the Taft Greyhound Band who earned 2nd place overall in the Pettus Soaring Eagle Marching Invitational on Saturday morning! The band competed against 6 other bands in the contest with 5 of them being 2A classification.

The Greyhound Band will be the first 2A band performing in their class at the Region Marching Contest in Beeville next Saturday. They will take the field at 3:45 PM. Go Greyhound Band!

Congratulations to our Student Spotlight recipients who were presented at halftime of Friday night's game! These students were selected from each campus for their achievement, commitment and character displayed every day in their schools. Petty Pup students being recognized had perfect attendance for a 3-week period and were honored by being able to run out through the Greyhound tunnel. Keep up the great work, students!

Free College Application Week is a statewide initiative that helps Texas residents apply to public colleges at no cost.

Created by Senate Bill 2231 during the 89th Texas Legislative Session, all public colleges and universities in Texas are required to waive admission application fees for Texas residents who apply through ApplyTexas to undergraduate programs. In 2026, Free College Application Week is October 12-18, 2026. It is the second full week of October (Monday-Sunday).

Applications must be submitted through ApplyTexas by 11:59 p.m. CDT on the last day of Free College Application Week to qualify. Applications that are started but not submitted before Free College Application Week ends are not be eligible.
