Learning doesn’t have to stay inside four walls.
Last week our teachers stepped into virtual reality, exploring new ways to take students beyond the classroom and into experiences that deepen curiosity, spark imagination, and bring learning to life.
At Seabury, we’re always asking what’s possible—and then building it.
Come see it in action.

Seabury School
Seabury School challenges gifted children in a community that cherishes each individual and fosters
Founded in 1989, Seabury is the only independent school in the South Puget Sound with a program specifically designed for intellectually advanced children. Children from Tacoma, Federal Way, Kent, Auburn, Gig Harbor, Puyallup and throughout the South Puget Sound region come to Seabury for its personalized approach to education and emphasis on the development of creative and analytical thinking ski
Rethink learning. Rethink what’s possible. Rethink middle school.
At Seabury, students don’t just study ideas. They build them, test them, and bring them to life. From engineering inspired by the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to creative expression to Thursdays in the Cuty, our middle school is designed for curious, gifted learners who are ready for more.
If your child is ready to be challenged, supported, and truly known, we’d love to show you what that looks like in action.
Schedule a visit and see Seabury for yourself. [email protected]
Seabury Showcase = kids leading the learning. 💡
It was a joy to welcome so many families to campus and watch students share their work and explain their thinking—penguin “research,” 3D landform islands, salmon life cycles, Seaburia artifacts, and medieval castles (complete with design rationale). Seeing their creativity on display, paired with their confidence in conversation, was the best part.

Our students don’t just visit the library, they live in it: asking big questions, chasing curiosities, and disappearing into stories in our incredible library!
This whimsical space is one more way we celebrate gifted learners. Wonder is the starting point, and deep thinking is the norm.
Enrollment for the 2026–27 school year is open at Seabury School (PK–8).
Seabury is a place where gifted learners are understood, challenged, and supported in a community that cherishes each individual and fosters a love of learning, discovery, and creativity. Small classes, great teachers, and a program built for students who learn differently.
