Midlands Kiddie Korral & Learning Center

With the help of my parents, I opened Midland’s Kiddie Korral on this day June 16th 1985! In 41 years, we’ve had many amazing kids and teachers come through our doors. I’ve been so privileged to get to see so many children grow up to be amazing people. My heart squeezes every time a person comes through the door to enroll their children because it’s where they went for care!!

I’m so proud of my amazing staff! They are kind, supportive, smart and so compassionate for the children in our care! This was Teacher Appreciation week.. and I tried my best to spoil them! Worth every penny!! Thank you to the many parents that also showed lots of love!!❤️

Our new cook is Amazing!!! Hazel has a degree as a Culinary Pastry Chef. Yesterday, she made puff pastry… with Blueberry compote and Whipped cream for morning snack! The kids loved it! 😍 so did the staff!!! 🫐🍰❤️

Ms. Marce and Ms Sam’s unit on Livestock included a book called “Hog Wash” written by Karma Wilson and Jim Mcmullan. It a story about little pigs not wanting to take a bath! The students loved it and the teachers used this opportunity to have a small tub of bath water and a very dirty (brown paint) little pig that needs a good scrubbing!! 🐷🛁🫧🧽

Miss Marci and Miss Sam had a learning unit on Agriculture and planted sweet pea seeds! They talked about what a seed needs to grow and then watched them develop! Also, worked on numbers with measurements! The students planted them in the planter boxes outside of their classroom window!

Ms Natalie’s class has been learning about gardening and fruits & vegetables!! Focusing on the literacy, sounding out the words, they wrote the words to label the garden…then using fine motor skills to cut with scissors and writing activity!!! The kids labeled all the vegetables and cut the vegetables to post on their bulletin board. Another fun activity was the self-portrait and crowns!!

Ms Natalie had a wonderful day of fine muscle activities!! Anything to make those little fingers work hard! Cutting, coloring and pulling apart stickers are fun ways to make our fingers work!! Along with fun books written by Dr. Seuss! ❤️

Preschool A just wrapped up their art unit! They learned all about color theory, primary and secondary colors, as well as famous artist and their works. They made their own renditions of different styles of art by artists such as Piet Mondrian, Bob Ross, Michealangelo, Jackson Po***ck, Alma Thomas, and Van Gogh. We have some budding artists on our hands!

We had so much fun at our Super Bowl Party! Thank you to our awesome kids for really getting in the spirit! Hawks fans or not!! ❤️🏈🏟️

We are grateful to our families for allowing us to close the Center today and attend our annual Staff Christmas Party in Leavenworth. I feel privileged to work with such a talented and compassionate group of women.
