The Institute of Technology is expanding its engineering curriculum with an electrical engineering degree that complements its existing and future degrees in computer engineering and cybersecurity. Pathways will provide options for those entering as first-year or transfer students.

UW Tacoma is one of three campuses that make up the University of Washington, the other two are in Seattle and Bothell.
Since UW Tacoma’s founding in 1990, more than 11,000 graduates have earned their degrees here.
The Master of Cybersecurity & Leadership (MCL) at the University of Washington Tacoma develops leaders who can effectively identify and promote solutions that protect an organization's cyber systems. It is designed for professionals and military personnel with a technical background and work experience. This is a master's degree that will enhance technical and leadership skills for career advancement in the field of cybersecurity.
The Institute of Technology at the University of Washington, Tacoma, provides focus for the rapid development of high-technology academic programs which serve the needs of the state of Washington. Launched in 2001, the Institute has supported the community by building facilities, classrooms and labs. Through innovative partnerships with area companies, internships and funded research projects, Institute students gain real world experience to tackle the challenges of a continually evolving industry.

Step Up Scholarship initiative raises just over $1 million
When Chancellor Debra Friedman joined UW Tacoma last July, one of her first priorities was raising scholarship funds that could be put to immediate use helping students. Just nine months later, the Step Up Scholarship initiative has raised $1,008,677 in gifts, pledges and matching dollars.
