Team PLU recently competed in the CFA Research Challenge hosted by the CFA Society Seattle on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Out of all participating universities in our region, our team advanced to the local final as one of the top three teams. Thank you for representing PLU and the School of Business so well! GO LUTES!

We’re thrilled to highlight the School of Business NOURISH certificate program. The program began in 2020 and has been highly successful for both our students and the entrepreneurs they’ve partnered with.

This experiential consulting course prepares junior- and senior-level students to work directly with small, women- and minority-owned, entrepreneurial businesses in the community.

Students engage with industry experts and develop practical consulting skills by identifying real business challenges and creating actionable improvement plans that positively impact their clients' businesses.

Last week, our 2025 CFA Challenge team began preparation for their May competition by traveling to the downtown Seattle offices of Russell Investments to meet with their Challenge mentor. The team includes Lily, Jay, Dirk, Carmen, Aiym, and Evan, with advisor Dr. Hank Lin. Thank you, Russell Investments, for hosting us! The CFA Challenge is sponsored by CFA Seattle.

Our School of Business Dean’s Ambassadors conducted a Summer Internship Workshop for fellow students. Thank you, Marissa, Carmen, and Marlee for creating an exceptional workshop! Special thanks to Katie Guiterrez-George, Career and Internship advisor, from our Alumni and Student Connections office for providing students with additional resource information.

This morning there is a crispness in the air on the PLU campus, which means autumn is here!

In just under a week the new academic year begins! The School of Business faculty and staff look forward to seeing our returning students and can’t wait to meet those who are new!

Under the mentorship of PLU Finance professor, Dr. Hank Lin, our CFA Challenge Team competed in the 4th Annual Ethics Challenge at the Rainier Club in downtown Seattle yesterday. The Challenge is sponsored by CFA Society Seattle.

The Ethics Challenge is a local competition that challenges student teams to identify and analyze ethical issues in a given case. The teams create a presentation based on their analysis to a panel of judges.

Congratulations to Alana Henerlau, Evan Vanderslice, Giao Cullman, and Zay Harrington on their hard work and dedication.

Senior Capstone presentations take months of research, writing, rewriting then finally the formal presentation to their peers, faculty, and staff. Each presentation revealed how much each student has developed into a young business professional in four years. The School of Business is extremely proud of each person. Job well done LUTES!
