Founded in Tacoma, Washington, in 1884, Annie Wright Schools serve students from age three through high school. Annie Wright Lower and Middle Schools offer co-ed programs in Preschool through Grade 8, while separate Upper Schools for boys and girls offer day and boarding options in Grades 9 through 12.

Middle School Orientation ✅

Last week, our Middle School Gators kicked off the school year at Soundview Camp in Longbranch, WA, where they met with their Advisory groups during a superhero-themed Advisor Reveal, created colorful self-portraits, explored camp on a scavenger hunt, took on team challenges, tried archery, and even crafted nature-inspired artwork. Grade 8 students capped off the experience with a night by the waterfront. Safe to say our middle schoolers are ready for the 2026-2027 school year!

Meet Annie Wright Schools alumna Alexandra Bessler ’20: researcher, advocate, and recent Johns Hopkins MPH graduate. Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to sit down with Alexandra for an interview originally published in our summer issue of Strength Magazine: Community In Action, where she shared how her work in su***de prevention, overdose research, and mental health advocacy is helping create healthier, stronger communities. Who doesn't love an activities fair?! Last Friday, our Upper School gathered for an activities fair where they learned about different (s)Elective, arts, and athletics offerings. From Culinary to Inkwell to the Great Outdoor Adventure Team, students visited booths, talked to club veterans and leaders, and signed up for whatever caught their attention. It's always a blast and a great way to kick off the school year!
