The 2023 Elizabeth Thomas Legacy Scholarship application is NOW OPEN and will remain open until Friday, June 9th at 5pm.
The goal of the Elizabeth Thomas Legacy Scholarship is to increase the diversity of registered nurses in our community. The scholarship will recognize those who demonstrate excellence and commitment to improving the care and well-being of children and their families here at Seattle Children’s and in our community. The award may be used to assist with tuition and fees for persons who are preparing to become nurses and/or advancing their nursing skills through graduate level education. These scholarships reflect Seattle Children’s commitment to assist with the economic barriers that prevent some students from pursuing nursing careers.

Plan to study abroad in 2023? Check out the Institute for Innovation and Global Engagement Study Abroad Award ($1000)!
This award is open to ALL UW Tacoma students who plan to participate in a for-credit study abroad program or internship offered through the study abroad office at UW Tacoma, UW Seattle, or UW Bothell. We expect to fund up to fifteen awards this year which may be used for program fees, flights, and incidental expenses. Sea Mar will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to students who are of migrant or seasonal farm worker backgrounds. In addition to this, Sea Mar offers a $2,500 scholarship to students who demonstrate a history of advocacy, responsibility, accountability, and perseverance. The money can be used to cover expenses while you’re enrolled in college such as tuition, food, housing, books, etc. Take advantage of this opportunity. The deadline is April 30, 2023. SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT for Spring Quarter 2023
Up to three scholarships of $4,000 each will be awarded to UW students pursuing aging related research or careers related to provision of services to older adults.
Who is eligible:
• Currently enrolled UW undergraduate, graduate or professional students with an academic or career emphasis on aging, regardless of major. Applicants should have completed the first year of their program before applying
• UW Bothell, Seattle, and Tacoma students are welcome to apply
• International and HB1079 students are welcome to apply
What to submit:
• Application (uw.edu/uwra/scholarship-application) including unofficial transcript
• A 2022-2023 FAFSA (or non-citizen financial need assessment form) must be on file in the Student Financial Aid office Evaluation criteria:
• Demonstrated experience in and commitment to paid or volunteer work benefiting older adults
• Academic performance
• Communication skills

Child Care Aware (CCA) of Washington is providing scholarships funded by the Pierce County Human Services (PCHS) Department to current or prospective child care providers who either live, work or attend an approved academic program in Pierce County, WA. The purpose of this funding is to help increase the early learning workforce in Pierce County with the goal of having more confident and skilled early learning professionals who can provide child care for children and families in Pierce County.
The scholarship supports those who are interested in obtaining degrees or certificates in early learning (birth to 5 years of age), as well as Directors or Owners of child care facilities pursuing degrees in Business Administration or Business Management. PCHS is dedicated to connecting those in need with services to improve their quality of life and promote self-sufficiency.
Scholarship Benefits:

Stipend for Books, Materials and Equipment
Tutors and Academic Support Paid
Paid Release Time (Payment to Employer for Scholar’s missed work)

The Milgard School of Business in collaboration with the Office of Equity and Inclusion are proud to establish 10 inaugural Inclusive Excellence Student Scholarships. The University of Washington, Tacoma proudly celebrates the diversity of its student body and realizing that not everyone has equal access to funding and resources, we are committed to level the playing field, such that all our students feel equipped to explore and act on their career goals and contribute their unique talents towards creating positive change in the world.
SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION
• The scholarship will offer a one-time $1,000 award each for ten (10) qualifying applicants in each academic year.
• These funds can be used to offset tuition, books, and other school-related expenses.
ELIGIBILITY
• Any sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program (12 credits per quarter) at the University of Washington, Tacoma is eligible to apply.
• Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
• Students already receiving other sources of financial aid may apply.
