The Department of Sociology & Anthropology at the University of Puget Sound provides students with an opportunity to master the methods and concepts they need to find meaningful work in a variety of different venues, with a strong focus on research, social justice, and international settings. Many of the students in the department spend a semester of their Junior year abroad, and often do so in less-developed countries. Finally, we also require that our students spend the last year of their time at the University of Puget Sound preparing a substantive and independently-researched thesis.
