Flag raising inside the SCC, today, May 16, 2025 for Syttende Mai
Yes, it's a day early, but tomorrow is church and the Ballard Parade.
Will go LIVE for the flag ceremony.

See you on Saturday, May 16th inside the Scandinavian Cultural Center at 9:30am for the flag raising celebration followed by a light brunch.
Weather is supposed to be too wet to hold the event outdoors.
Remember to wear your traditional Norwegian bunads, sweaters, or Norwegian shirts if you have them.

Spring in Norway 🇳🇴 has come!

The Scandinavian Cultural Center at Pacific Lutheran University invites you to join us for these upcoming Syttende Mai festivities.
Join us on Saturday, May 16th at 9:30am for a flag raising at PLU’s Red Square, followed by a light brunch in the Scandinavian Cultural Center. Note that the flag raising may take place in the SCC if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Additionally, come march with us on Sunday, May 17th in the Ballard Parade! Bring along family and friends! Wear traditional bunads, sweaters, or anything Norwegian and join in the fun! All participants will need to submit a Hold-Harmless Agreement Form. To view, please click the button below.

Very little snow at PLU this afternoon, but out of an abundance of caution, they closed at 4pm. Vendors for the Nordic Heritage Festival will arrive early tomorrow morning to set up.
Right now, the Nordic Heritage Festival is on!!!
