Free Summer Meals are back! ☀️🍎
Monday–Thursday from June 22 to August 13, all children and teens ages 1–18 can enjoy free meals at select locations. No registration or paperwork is required.

Franklin Pierce Schools and all offices are closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Offices will reopen on Monday, June 22.

Happy Freedom Day! Juneteenth, sometimes called Freedom Day, commemorates when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas received news on June 19, 1865 that they were free—two and a half years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing enslaved people in states which had seceded from the union.

In addition to this, Juneteenth celebrates Black communities' rich culture, traditions, and experiences throughout history that have impacted and shaped the world that we live in today.

Franklin Pierce Schools is grateful to learn from and celebrate Juneteenth alongside our Black students, families, and staff. How do you and your family recognize Juneteenth?

Today, many elementary schools across the district hosted field day ☀️🏃‍♂️💦 Students enjoyed a day filled with teamwork, friendly competition, and plenty of fun activities. While the temperatures were high, the kids showed great enthusiasm and resilience throughout the day.

Thank you to school staff, volunteers, and families for helping make these special events possible. We hope everyone stays cool and enjoys a well-deserved evening after a fantastic day of making memories! We'll see you tomorrow for the last day of school 😎
