I put in for a month of PTO knowing it could get denied. As nurses, that’s just what happens to us. It had happened to me before.

But this time, it was granted!

So I packed my backpack and set out on a month-long walk along the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

About three weeks while walking on a ribbon of brown dusty trail

It hit me

My dream job had turned into a nightmare job. And that felt so bad and difficult to admit because I had worked my whole life just to get to this point.

But admitting it changed everything.

I came home, saved like crazy, finished paying off my student loans.

A year later, I quit.

My plan was to take 6 months off. That turned into a year, then two, then 5.

Learning to invest on my own as a nurse is the thing that made it possible to work when I want, if I want.

And now I teach nurses at all levels of their career how to do it too.

I use compound interest, low fee investments, and a cash flow plan in order to live off my investments and take the trips I want when I want.

It worked so well that I got it State Board of Nursing approved so that nurses could finally have a financial literacy program that they can trust.

Since July 1, nurses still on the SAVE repayment plan have been getting mail about a 90-day window to pick a new plan. That’s because a federal court struck SAVE down back in March — this is the mail that’s been going out since.

That window starts closing around October 1.

Miss it, and your servicer moves you to the Standard Plan or Tiered Standard Plan automatically. Both carry higher monthly payments than any income-driven option.

The new income-driven option is RAP — Repayment Assistance Plan. Same income-driven structure as SAVE. One meaningful difference: if you make your full payment on time, RAP guarantees it reduces your principal. SAVE never guaranteed that. (Good!)

Three things to do this week:

1️⃣ Log into studentaid.gov. Find out what plan you’re on and read your actual deadline.

2️⃣ Run the Loan Simulator while you’re there. Shows your payment under RAP, IBR, and Standard Plan. Takes about an hour. Gives you real numbers for a real decision.

3️⃣ Enroll in autopay by September 30. The Department of Education just raised the autopay discount from 0.25% to 1%. On a $30,000 balance, that’s roughly $300 in savings each year just for making the same payment you already make each month.

I’m a State Board of Nursing approved CE provider who teaches nurses how to fund their future with small portions of their paycheck so they can work less if they want to.

I used my nursing skills to make small tweaks to what I did with my nursing paycheck and it’s made all the difference between working for decades and still not having enough versus being able to cut back hours in months and still having more money.

I break down how this works in a document. Comment PLAN and I’ll send it to you.

… I’ve been hustling to make ends meet ever since. I was the kid who would go door to door to sell things to neighbors that they didn’t need - strangely flavored popcorn, wrapping paper… I regularly took side gigs from neighbors like ironing their clothes, pulling weeds, babysitting, or painting random things in their yards. $1/hr was the going rate that I sold my time for! I took my first legal job at age 13–the one-room local library in West Elkton, OH, the rural village that defined my childhood. I think I got paid $3/hr…remember back then minimum wage was just $4.50 and because I was younger than 15 my pay was legally allowed to be less… wild right!?! What’s the lowest you’ve ever sold your time for? Comment below! ~Angel P.S. I’ve been working overtime on a brand new (life-changing) training. I’m getting super excited to share it and it will go to my email list FIRST. If you aren’t on my list yet, DM me your email. I’ll make sure to add you so you get it. P.P.S. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re a nurse you deserve to earn more. But I’m tired of nurses putting all their energy into working harder for more money, when you can WORK LESS and have MORE.

Let me explain.

Most nurses think cash flow is an income problem. I definitely used to think this too!

But then I learned that nurses are some of the highest-paid hourly workers in the USA and Canada.

It got me asking, why isn’t it working?

The Department of Labor tracks wages for every occupation in the United States. Nurses are at the top of the hourly list.

Which means every hour spent looking for ways to earn more, a second job, NP school, a content channel, is an hour spent on the wrong problem.

For most nurses, their paycheck comes in and then runs straight back out. Like water through a sieve. And until that’s fixed, the feeling of always needing more money doesn’t go away. And constantly needing to make more to stay on top@of everything never stops.

Every nurse who has gotten ahead changed what she did with her paycheck.

I use a cash flow plan to get on top of this. Because unlike a budget that sets you up to track money as it comes in and goes out (paycheck to paycheck), a cash flow plan lets you effortlessly put every dollar you earn into the place that makes you the most money, without needing to work more to get it.

I break this down in my State Board of Nursing approved on demand video training. If you agree you deserve more for what you do but can’t work any harder, then this is a must-watch. Comment INFO and I’ll send you the registration link.

Most nurses rely on a paycheck, not a plan.
A better way exists 👉

One day it’s another exhausting shift. The next? PTO denied. Another staffing crisis.

What if you could

⭐ Work when you want, IF you want
⭐ Take PTO even if you get denied
⭐ Retire early
⭐ Enjoy time with your family
⭐ Travel more

Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

Yeah, it is. Believe me, I know! I learned to invest on my own as a nurse and my life totally changed in just 6 years. These days I only work when I want to because I love it, not because I have to.

I bet you’re wondering how to get to the point of “work optional” in your life.

Great question!

It’s exactly what I’ll teach you in my FREE on-demand training → “How to Become Work Optional in One Hour a Month”

One of the first things I built when I was a new nurse drowning in student loans was build a cash flow system. You know what that meant for me?

The ability to take a 2-year contract in New Zealand. Move, take a job, earn less per hour, and not feel locked into working more just to pay my loans or worried about defaulting.

Learning to invest on your own so you pay loans and fund your future with small portions of your paycheck is the best thing to do!

Nurses: STOP picking up extra shifts to pay for that vacation you’ve been dreaming of.

You deserve the time off to decompress WITHOUT having to work more to earn it.

I know what you’re thinking…

“𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘸?”

It feels like you’re living paycheck to paycheck because there’s never extra money left over.

The truth is, you CAN pay cash for your vacation. And anything else you want to.

Take it from someone who has:
✅ Paid off $200k in debt

I paid off $200,000 of debt as a nurse/NP with an average salary.
Wanna know how I did it? 👇👇

There’s something you need to know first:

I’m just an average person, like you, who desperately needed to create financial freedom for myself so I could have more choices.

And that’s exactly what I did!

Now I’m teaching other nurses my exact money methods so they can pay off debt, increase wealth, and work only when and IF they want.

I’m sharing it all in my FREE ON-DEMAND TRAINING:

21 years married felt like a lifetime ago 20 years ago. And we’ve fit a lifetime of adventures in. This guy. 😍 Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. As nurses we have been conditioned to settle for so very little. It’s time for you to have what you want. Leave a 👍 if you agree.
