🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of Lin at Communities In Schools of Tacoma!💙

For a decade, Lin has been an important part of the CIST community—not only as a staff member, but previously as a member of our Board of Directors.

Today, Lin serves as our Operations Manager, helping keep so much of CIST running smoothly behind the scenes. From the details that keep our team organized to the systems that support our work in schools, Lin helps make it possible for our staff to focus on what matters most: being there for students.

While students may not always see everything that happens behind the scenes, strong operations create the foundation that allows student support to happen every day.

Lin, thank you for 10 years of dedication, service and commitment to CIST and Tacoma students. We are so grateful for all that you do!

🌎 This month, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!

At Communities In Schools of Tacoma, we celebrate the cultures, identities, and experiences that help students feel seen, valued, and connected.

At Mt. Tahoma High School, the Latino Club creates a space where students can celebrate their heritage while building community and strengthening their sense of belonging.

Exita, our Integrated Student Support Specialist at Mt. Tahoma High School, shared:

“The Mount Tahoma High School Latino Club is all about pride, culture, and community. It gives our youth a space to represent their heritage and stay grounded in their roots.”

Spaces like this matter. When students have opportunities to celebrate who they are, connect with others, and build meaningful relationships, they are better positioned to feel a sense of belonging—and belonging matters to student success.

A huge thank you to the team and Head Coach McAdams for showing up for Tacoma students at our Stuff the Bus Block Party!

Your hard work, energy, and genuine compassion made a difference. From lending a hand to helping create a welcoming and joyful experience for students and families, you showed what it means to be present and invested in your community.

For students, moments like these matter. They build connection, belonging, and positive relationships—and remind young people that their community believes in them.
