We are thrilled to announce that Vincent āVinnieā Da, a 2021 graduate of the Healthcare Leadership (HCL) program, has been named a Fulbright Scholar. He will conduct research in the Philippines, continuing his commitment to global health equity. š
As UW Tacomaās student body president in 2019ā2021, Vinnie led with courage and compassion during the COVID-19 pandemic, advocating for studentsā needs and ensuring their voices were heard. His leadership left a lasting mark on the campus community.
After graduation, Vinnie worked with the MultiCare Center for Health Equity & Wellness, implementing impactful programs that served diverse communities during the pandemic. A first-generation college student, he continues to give back to HCL through mentoring and student support.
"What sets the School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership (SNHCL) at UW Tacoma apart is the meaningful, lasting relationships students form with faculty, connections that continue long after graduation. Since completing the program in 2021, I have remained closely connected with Dr. Christine Stevens, whose steady encouragement was a cornerstone of my undergraduate experience. Her unwavering support was instrumental in key milestones such as my Husky 100 recognition and Fulbright application, where she served as a recommender. Faculty like Dr. Stevens embody the spirit of the HCL program, supporting students not only academically, but as future leaders dedicated to equity and public service. The mentorship and guidance from SNHCL faculty have been foundational to the impactful path I am pursuing in healthcare today." - Vincent Da '27
