After a legendary 29 years as Head Coach of our Men's Lacrosse team, Coach Dan Sheehan will be stepping into a new role at the college as Director of Philanthropy for Athletics in the Office of Advancement and Innovation.

During his time as Head Coach, Coach Sheehan led our team to six national titles and amassed the most wins in DII Lacrosse history.

"Dan Sheehan is synonymous with Le Moyne excellence. While his on-field record speak for itself, the true impact he had is found in those who rallied around a program defined by tradition, loyalty and championship mettle,” said Phil Brown, Le Moyne’s assistant vice president of athletics and campus recreation. β€œHe bridged generations of Dolphin alumni, fans and supporters across the country and I am thrilled that all constituencies will continue to benefit from his leadership in this new role.” Brown stated that a national search for a new coach will begin immediately.

We are humbled to acknowledge and celebrate Dan's legendary career at Le Moyne, and thrilled to welcome him to our Advancement and Innovation team for his next chapter! πŸ¬πŸ’šπŸ’›

In today's Alumni Spotlight, we are highlighting Nancy Scheutzow '51, a member of Le Moyne's first-ever graduating class. Nancy came to this year's Alumni Weekend to celebrate her 75th class reunion with her daughter, Mary Scheutzow '82.

Nancy is a retired Community Relations Coordinator for the Metropolitan Commission on Aging in Syracuse. She was involved as a member of her reunion committee at Le Moyne multiple times. Her late husband, William L. Scheutzow, was also a graduate of the class of 1951. He was a Navy veteran who served during World War II, enrolling at Le Moyne in 1947 following the end of the war. He spent his career working as a Personnel Officer with Onondaga County. He passed away in 2003.

We are so lucky to have amazing Alumni like Nancy, who has embodied Cura Personalis in both her career and life after Le Moyne. πŸ¬πŸ’š

From the classrooms of Le Moyne to communities across the globe, John Romano ’64 built a career rooted in service, education, and social justice. 🌍

Inspired by the Jesuit values he encountered as a student, John joined the Peace Corps after graduation and taught mathematics in Nigeria, where he helped establish a science curriculum and laboratory for a girls’ secondary school. That experience sparked a lifelong commitment to international collaboration, counseling psychology, and global education.
Over the decades, John’s work has taken him to Malaysia, Russia, Thailand, Guatemala, and beyond - serving as a professor, Fulbright Scholar, mentor, and advocate for student wellness and cross-cultural understanding.

His story is a powerful reminder of how a Le Moyne education can inspire meaningful impact around the world. πŸ’š
