Today, 25 years after September 11, 2001, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and those who answered the call in the days that followed.

One of those people was longtime Big I New York member Jeff Rehm.

A Vietnam veteran. A volunteer firefighter. An independent insurance agent and advocate for his community. And, in the days following 9/11, one of the Cutchogue firefighters who traveled to New York City to assist at the World Trade Center.

Many of us knew Jeff through the insurance industry. There was much more to his story.

Today, Tim Dodge remembers Jeff and a lifetime defined by showing up when people needed him most.

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

For Big I New York, September 11 has always carried a deeply personal weight. Members of our independent insurance community were there that day. Many lost friends, family members, colleagues and clients. Many more answered the call in the days, months and years that followed, helping their neighbors and communities through unimaginable loss.

Today, we honor the lives taken too soon, the courage of the first responders and all who stepped forward to help, and the families who continue to carry their memories.

To our members and all New Yorkers whose lives were forever changed by September 11, 2001, we remember with you.

We will never forget.

It was a great day on the course at the 62nd Annual South of the Border Golf Tournament at Tupper Lake Golf Course! ⛳

Big I NY’s Travis Wattie and Lisa Lounsbury hit the course with a great group: Past Big I NY Chairs Nick Masterpole and Dave MacLachlan, along with NextGen NY Chair Tawnia Vermette. It’s always great to spend a day with friends and colleagues from across the independent insurance community.

Congratulations to Kelly Gonyo and the entire team at Blue Line Insurance for putting together a fantastic event. Thank you for having us. We’re always happy to support our local associations and enjoy a little friendly competition along the way!
