SCS vs Chenango Forks 12/1/19

Thank you,Ladies, for your long day of traveling in less than optimal conditions. Thank you also for all of your hard work and effort that went into the success of your half time routine! You looked great out there during half time. Thank you for cheering our boys on during this challenging game. You did great!
I hope all of you take this experience in. You're the second cheer team to go to the Dome. I hope that some of you will be able to experience it again during your high school career! SCS Pride!

To our Schuylerville Football Team,
I hope all of you are spending your snow day recovering from what was a very tough game and a long travel day.
I would like to say how proud I am of all of you, and I hope all of you are aware that your community is as well. So many of our community members made the trip to cheer all of you on! What a great turnout at the Dome with a major storm in the forecast. I hope all of you were able to see the support on social media and those that checked into local businesses to watch the game being streamed. Your community rallied behind you and will continue to be behind you.
Although, it may not be the outcome any one of us were cheering and hoping for, please hold your heads high in knowing that you made it the Dome! Not every football player gets to experience that and you're the second SCS team to be able to do it. That is quite an accomplishment. Your hard work, team work, perseverance, determination, dedication, passion, respect, and love of this game and your team got you to this point.
Seniors, I know the loss was a tough one for all of you and right now it stings. But someday you'll be able to look back and say that you played football at the Dome.
Underclassmen, I hope this experience has made you passionate and " hungry" to want to reach this point again next year.

Class B State Championship vs Chenango Forks

I’m taking a little stroll down memory lane today looking through my 2015 Dome pictures! Wow! What a community turn out for this game! Of course, there were no snowstorms in the forecast! So, we’ll see what happens on Sunday.
It’s funny to look back and see all those that have graduated from SCS since this game, my own son, Jared, included. Where has the time gone?
As I was reminiscing about the 2015 Dome experience , some fun facts about the 2019 team came to light:

The 2015 water boys are suiting up to play on Sunday! Imagine their excitement. They’ve been on this journey for a long time and have made it back as players!

I look at the 2015 team and realize that there are 4 little brothers playing on the 2019 team:
Clayton Patrick 2015- Carson Patrick 2019
Joe Vanderhoof 2015- Jacob Vanderhoof 2019
Matthew Peck 2015- Ryan Peck 2019
Stratton Sherman- 2015
Owen and Lukas Sherman 2019
Does it count that my younger son, Jared, was on the 2015 team and my older son, Robert, is an assistant coach for the 2019 team? A little reversed, but it works..
What a unique experience to be able to share as brothers and as a family.

There are multiple brothers on the 2019 roster as well:
Tyler and Zack Bowen ( Josh Bowen is the ball boy), Charles and Anthony Luzadis, Sam and Jack McGarrahan, Jack and Sam Dwyer, Owen and Lukas Sherman, Otto Bolduc( player) and Ollie Bolduc (water boy).

I can’t leave out the father/son- coach/player relationships on the 2019 team:
John Bowen (coach)- Tyler(player), Zack(player), Josh(ball boy), and wife, Stephanie(statistician)- now that’s a football family! 🧡🖤🏈
Wally Dow( coach) - Ryan(player)
Kevin Peck (coach) - Ryan ( player)
Steve Prouty (coach) - Austin ( player)
Ryan Sherman( Superintendent) - Owen and Lukas Sherman (players).
I personally thought these were just some neat facts about this team.

I truly wish all of these players and coaches one heck of a game on Sunday. I’m sure they will leave it all on the field- giving it 110+%They’ve had an incredible journey with their final stop being the Dome!
Let’s write this last chapter, Gentlemen, and let’s title it- State Champions!!

Schuylerville held off Port Jarvis 8-7 on Saturday and are headed to the Dome on 12/1 for a 12:00 game against Chenango Forks for the Class B State Championship! Way to Go SCS!!!! See you at the Dome!!
