It was pancakes hot off the griddle this morning for 157 champions here at Syracuse STEM!

Today we continued our NWEA XP Quest incentives by celebrating students who earned 30+ points out of a possible 50! These students not only took their time and worked carefully; but also saw their score go up by 10 points or more!

This week we started celebrating our students who met their goals for our winter NWEA assessments. Students could earn XP points by completing various quests including taking their time, not guessing, increasing their score, and going up a level.

Over 300 of our students earned the first two incentives and enjoyed open gym time on Monday and Sno-Cones in lunch today! We are incredibly proud of our champions!

Mr. Gyder is a CHAMPION!!

Syracuse STEM at Blodgett Middle School Dean of Students Twan Gyder is considered "a beacon of inspiration" in his building. That's why his colleague, fellow Dean Paul Crisafulli, nominated him as an outstanding staff member.

Mr. Gyder leads Chalk Talk for the Building Men Program, pouring his heart into the boys and encouraging them to give their best to others. He shares daily inspiration cards with staff, encouraging them to reach their own greatness. Thank you for all you do, Dean Gyder!

"Last week, Hispanic students at Blodgett with Mr. Anderson Quilumba as a Nationality worker shared the inspiring story of the star, learning about the power of self-love and the importance of embracing who we truly are.

Although families could not attend in person, they were informed about this meaningful activity, making them part of the experience and reinforcing the message at home.

This initiative reminds us that every person shines in their own unique way. By loving ourselves and staying connected with our families, we build a stronger, kinder community where everyone feels valued and respected.

Let’s keep encouraging each other to celebrate diversity, honor our roots, and believe that we are enough—just as we are!"

Hello Syracuse STEM Families,

Students who are due for vaccines were sent home with brown and white envelopes last week. It is very important that these forms are filled out completely to ensure your child can stay in school.

Starting tomorrow (September 17, 2025), any child with incomplete forms and missing vaccines will not be able to attend school until that information is up to date. To prevent this, please return the completed forms to the nurse's office by end of day today.

Parents are welcome to stop by the nurse's office between 8:00am and 2:00pm to complete the forms in person if needed. Please note that we cannot turn in incomplete forms. Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy and in school.
