OCE is a co-curricular unit of Syracuse University, engaging with the wider community of Central NY

OCE is a gateway to dynamic alliances among scholars and Hispanic cultural programming and research, statewide, nationally, and abroad. OCE’s goal is to foster successful collaborations, matching SU’s resources with external support to generate funding and build human capital through educational, artistic, and academic interactions. This is in alignment with the growing demand for students to effectively train for the global workplace.

La Casita turns 15! We invite our community to share memories, photos, videos, keepsakes and heirlooms, quinceañera dresses—also stories of quinceañeras from years past.

We want to celebrate your quinceañera stories and experiences in a beautiful exhibition that La Casita will present to commemorate its 15th anniversary.

Is there a quinceañera in the family this year? We invite you to celebrate her special day at La Casita during Hispanic Heritage Month, on September 18, 2026, at the opening of the exhibition: Quinceañera Dreams.

For more information, please contact La Casita via email: [email protected] or call 315.443.2151.

Welcome to a virtual walkthrough of “50 Sin Cuenta”. The main gallery brings together works that reflect both the origins and the ongoing evolution of Point of Contact. At its center, an installation recreates the editor’s desk with artifacts that speak to the early years: memorabilia, vintage editions of Point of Contact, original galleys from the early years, and metal plates once used in the printing process. Surrounding this space are works from those formative years displayed alongside more recent works in painting, photography, collage— each one representative of the Latin American contour of the Point of Contact collection.

“50 Sin Cuenta” runs through October 24, 2025, at the Warehouse Gallery. GALLERY HOURS:
Tuesdays & Wednesdays 12noon-6 pm
Thursdays 12noon-8 pm
Fridays and Saturdays 12noon-4 pm
Other times, by appointment.

Support for this exhibition program comes from Syracuse University and several of its academic departments and units including the Latino-Latin American Studies Program, Centro de Estudios Hispánicos (LLL), and the Humanities Center.

Point of Contact programs are also made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) with the support of the Office of the Governor and the NY State Legislature.

This exhibit is presented in partnership with the Warehouse Gallery and the Museum Studies Program of the College of Visual & Performing Arts at Syracuse University.
