A legacy of generosity, remembered in a new place to gather and reflect. 💜
On September 30th, Niagara University celebrated the blessing of the Marcus Brown Heritage Society Garden, led by Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., and Rabbi Yehuda Lorber. In 1882, Marcus Brown, a local Jewish merchant, provided an interest-free loan that helped save Niagara from closing. The garden honors his family’s lasting impact and the generosity of those who continue to support Niagara’s future.
Located between St. Vincent’s Hall/Alumni Chapel and Glynn Hall, this peaceful space welcomes our campus community and returning alumni for moments of prayer, reflection, and gratitude.
In the spring of 2027, Niagara University will hold a special reception and a second blessing of the garden together with members of the Heritage Society.
